Cook Books & Food Blogs:

  • Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon, Pat Connolly and Mary G. Enig
This is one of our faves. It focuses on the nutritional value of “traditional” foods. The premise of this cookbook is:
    1. Avoid processed fats, starches, sugars, and proteins. They are not of no value. They are unhealthy.
    2. Eat animal protein and their accompanying fats.
    3. Eat whole grain products.
    4. Eat foods prepared in such a way that avoids loosing important nutrients.
  • The Grassfed Gourmet Cookbook by Shannon Hayes
  • Long Way on a Little by Shannon Hayes
  • Simply in Season by Mary Beth Lind and Cathleen Hockman-Wert
  • The Whole Beast: Nose to Tail Eating by Fergus Henderson
  • Smitten Kitchen
A food blog fave. This lady knows what she is doing. Everything I have tried is great.
  • Punch Fork
Overloaded with too much kale, squash or basil?..Have some lamb or rabbit you don’t know how to prepare? If you have an ingredient/item you do not know how to prepare use this awesome search engine to give you some ideas.
  • Nourished Kitchen: reviving traditional foods
